2 Samuel 1
Saul and Jonathan's deaths are reported to David.
David kills the man who killed Saul. (But I thought Saul killed himself because his armorbearer would not? Why is David killing him then?)
David grieves for the death of Saul and his best friend Jonathan.
David gives "Song of the Bow" to remember them.
2 Samuel 2
David is made king of Judah.
Ishbosheth is made king of Israel by Abner, Saul's army commander.
Israel and Judah go to war and Judah wins.
Joab, Abishai, and Asahel, three brothers are pursuing Abner.
Abner kills Asahel and the two brothers turn back.
2 Samuel 3
David has six sons; Amnon, Chileab, Absalom, Adonijah, Shephatiah, and Ithream.
Abner is insulted by Ishbosheth so he leaves and joins David.
Joab kills Abner for killing his brother.
David and the people mourn Abner's death.
