1 Kings 10
The Queen of Sheba hears about Solomon’s wisdom and comes to put it to the test.
Solomon answers all of Sheba’s questions.
Sheba says Solomon is wiser than what is said of him.
Solomon is extremely wealthy.
Solomon has so much gold that none of his cups are silver.
Almost everything Solomon has is covered in gold.
1 Kings 11
Solomon begins to turn from the Lord.
Solomon takes many wives and concubines and they begin to lead him astray.
They get him to build places of worship and other things for other gods.
The Lord tells Solomon he will take away his kingdom from him.
The Lord will wait to take away the kingdom from Solomon’s son.
The Lord will leave one tribe for Solomon’s son for David’s sake.
The Lord raises up adversaries to Solomon.
Hadad and Rezon are two such adversaries.
Jeraboam, Solomon’s servant, rebells.
Solomon tried to kill Jeraboam but he fled to Egypt.
Solomon reigned for 40 years over Israel.
Solomon dies.
