1 Kings 18
The Lord tells Elijah to present himself to Ahab and He will bring rain.
Ahab has all of Israel come to Mount Carmel.
Elijah challenges the prophets of Baal.
There are 2 identical altars with bulls on them.
Whichever is burned with fire, that is the real God.
The Baal prophets go first and fail.
Elijah has 12 waterpots dumped on his altar and fills the trench around it.
Elijah calls on the Lord and the Lord consumes the altar, bull, water, and stones.
Elijah gathers the prophets of Baal and executes them.
The drought ends.
1 Kings 19
Jezebel wants to kill Elijah for what he did to the prophets of Baal.
Elijah escapes and is fed by an angel.
The Lord tells Elijah to anoint Hazael as king of Syria, Jehu as king of Israel, and Elisha as prophet in his place.
Elisha becomes Elijah’s servant.
1 Kings 20
Ahab defeats the Syrians twice.
Ahab and Ben-Hadad, king of Syria, make a treaty.
The cities that were taken from Israel will be restored and Israel will be able to set of marketplaces in Damascus.
