1 Kings 15
Abijam rules in Judah.
He did not follow the Lord and sinned just as his father did, unlike how David lived.
Asa rules in Judah and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just like David.
There was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, all their lives.
Asa makes a treaty with Tabrimmon to ward off Baasha’s attacks and is successful in doing so.
Asa dies and Jehoshaphat, his son reigns in his place.
Nadab, Jeroboam’s son rules Isreal and did evil in the sight of the Lord.
Baasha kills Nadab and becomes king and kills all of the house of Jeroboam.
Baasha walked in sin and in turn lead Israel to do so.
1 Kings 16
Baasha dies and Elah, his son now reigns.
Zimri, Elah’s servant kills him and all of the house of Baasha.
Zimri destroyed Baasha’s house because the Lord told Jehu, a prophet.
Israel makes Omri king.
Zimri is conspired against and is attacked by Omri.
Zimri burns the king’s house down, killing himself.
Israel was divided between Omri and Tibni.
The people who followed Omri prevailed over Tibni.
Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord and did worse than all who were before him.
Omri died and Ahab, his son, ruled.
Ahab did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
Ahab built an altar for Baal.
1 Kings 17
Elijah proclaims there will be no rain for years, except at his word.
The Lord tells him to go to a brook so he can drink and ravens will bring him bread and meat morning and night.
Elijah asks a widow for bread first for she had very little and needed to fred her family.
If she gave him bread first, the oil and flour will not run out until the Lord sends rain.
Elijah revives the son of the widow, whose house he was staying at, by the power of the Lord.
