Judges 8
Gideon finishes off the Midianites.
The people ask Gideon to rule over them.
Gideon says the Lord rules over them.
Israel had peace for 40 years.
Gideon had 70 sons and many wives.
One of Gideon's sons was Abimelech, by a female servant.
As soon as Gideon died, they forgot the Lord and began to worship another Baal as their god.

Judges 9
Abimelech kills his brothers except Jotham because he hid.
The people of Shechem made Abimelech king.
Abimelech ruled for 3 years.
Abimelech and the people of Shechem begin to fight.
While attacking a fort, a woman dropped a stone and crushed Abimelech's skull.
Abimelech has someone kill him so that a woman did not kill him.
God had repaid the wickedness of Abimelech by killing his 70 brothers.
The curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal (A.K.A. Gideon) was upon the men of Shechem.
