Joshua 9
The Gibeonites hear of the Israelites and dress in worn clothes and deceive the Israelites they are from far away and have come because of what the Lord is doing.
They make a pack to not harm the travelers.
Joshua finds out that they have been deceived and makes the Gibeonites woodcutters and water carriers for all the people.
Joshua 10
Joshua leads the people to victory over the Amorites.
While the Amorites were running from the Israelites, the Lord sent large hailstones from heaven that killed the Amorites. More died by the hailstones than the swords of the people.
Joshua spoke to the Lord saying to make the sun and moon stand still.
The Lord makes the sun and moon stand still. How awesome is that!?
Five Amorite kings hide in caves.
Joshua sets stones at he mouths and guards at the entrance.
After a time, Joshua has the kings that are in the caves brought to him and hanged on five trees.
Joshua has the bodies of the kings sealed behind stone in the caves that they hid.
The people defeat Makkedah, Libnah, Lachish on the second day, Gezer, Eglon, and Debir.
All were destroyed; nothing remained.
The people were victorious because the Lord fought for Israel.
Joshua returned to Gilgal after all of the South lands were conquered.
Joshua 11
May nations gather against Israel to fight them.
The Lord tells Joshua that they will be victorious.
Joshua destroyed all of them, killing the men, burning the chariots, and keeping the booty for themselves just as the Lord commanded.
The conquests of Joshua are summarized.
