Joshua 5-8

Joshua 5
All the men are circumcised because the people were not in the wilderness.
The Commander of the Army of the Lord appeared to Joshua.

Joshua 6
The people marched in silence around Jericho once a day for six days.
On the seventh day, they marched around seven times.
The people made a great shout at Joshua's command and the walls fell flat.
All of Jericho was destroyed.
No spoils were taken. Gold silver, bronze, and iron were taken for the treasury of the Lord.
Rahab and all who were in her house we spared for protecting the spies that Joshua sent.

Joshua 7
Achan trespassed against the Lord so when some of the people went to attack Ai, they were defeated.
Joshua searches for the sinner and finds Achan.
Achan says that he took garments, gold, and silver.
Achan and his family are stoned.

Joshua 8
The Lord tells Joshua to go take Ai now.
The plan is to have an ambush behind the city.
Some will attack from the front and draw them out of the city.
The enemy is drawn out of the city leaving no soldiers behind.
The ambush team behind the city enter the city and burn it.
The army sees their city burning and lose hope.
The Israelites destroy all the people of Ai.
Joshua builds an altar to the Lord.
He reads all the laws that Moses gave to the people from the Lord.
