Luke 1
Luke is writing an account to Theophilus.
John’s birth is announced to Zacharias by Gabriel.
Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth were very old and did not have a child.
Gabriel tells Zacharias that his pray has been heard and God sent him to tell him that Elizabeth will have a child.
Zacharias did not believe so Gabriel tells him he will not be able to speak until the child arrives.
Gabriel announces to Mary she will have a son and call His name Jesus.
Mary visits Elizabeth.
Elizabeth had a son and names him John.
Zacharias now speaks when they name him.
Zacharias prophecies about his son John the Baptist.
