Amos 6
Israel is given a warning.
They think they can do things without the help of the Lord.
The Lord says He will show them they cannot.
Amos 7
Amos gets a vision of locust and fire and asks the Lord to relent, which He does.
The Lord tells Amos He has set a plumb line in Israel.
The Lord will not pass by anymore.
Amaziah complains about Amos’s prophesying.
The Lord says he will die, his wife will be a harlot, and his children will die by the sword.
Amos 8
Amos sees a vision of summer fruit.
There will be a famine, not of bread or water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
Amos 9
Israel is utterly destroyed.
The Lord will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob.
All the sinners of Israel shall die by the sword.
Israel will be restored one day.
