The Game Plan. I will be reading through the Bible through this year of 2011; little by little, chapter by chapter. I have always wanted to do this but have never committed to do so. This is me making a commitment.

Amos 1-5

Amos 1
Amos judges the nations.
Judgements on Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, and Ammon are given.

Amos 2
Amos judges the nations, Judah and Israel.
Judgement on Moab, Judah and Israel are given.
The judgement on Israel is more harsh than Judah, Amos’s nation.

Amos 3
“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"
The prophesy of Amos has its authority in the Lord.
Israel will be punished for their sins.

Amos 4
Israel did not accept correction from the Lord or His prophets.
They did not return to God.
God tells them to prepare to meet me.

Amos 5
A lamentation is taken over Israel.
The people are called to repentance.
“Seek good and not evil.”
Because the people sinned, the Lord will send them into captivity.
