Acts 7
Stephen speaks about Abraham and his call from the Lord.
He speaks about the twelve patriarchs in Egypt and how God delivers Israel from Egypt through Moses.
Israel rebels against God making idols and worshiping them.
Stephen speaks of God's true tabernacle and how Israel resisted the Holy Spirit.
Stephen is stoned to death.
Acts 8
Saul consented to the death of Stephen.
Saul begins persecuting the church, throwing many into prison.
Christ is preached is Samaria.
Simon, a sorcerer, believes in the Lord and follows Philip.
Peter and John come to Samaria and lay hands on them there so that they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
Simon offers money so that they lay hands on him so that he can give others the Holy Spirit.
Peter tells him the gift of God cannot be purchases.
Peter tells him to repent and pray that the Lord forgives him for his sin.
Philip finds an Ethiopian eunuch reading Isaiah.
The Ethiopian does not understand so Philip explains and preaches Jesus to him.
The Ethiopian asks to be baptizes.
When Philip does so, immediately the Spirit of the Lord took him away and the Ethiopian went on his way rejoicing.
Philip was found later preaching at Azotus and many others on his way to Caesarea.
