Acts 4
About 5000 heard an believed what Peter said.
The Sadducees heard Peter and John speaking of the resurrection of Jesus and has them arrested.
Peter speaks to the Sanhedrin with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Peter says that through the name of Jesus that man was made whole, the Man whom you crucified and rejected who has become the chief cornerstone.
The Sanhedrin threaten Peter and John into not using Jesus's name.
They refuse saying they are only speaki g what the see and hear.
They are released be cause no fault is found and many of the people believed.
Peter prays for boldness and the place where they prayed shook as the Holy Spirit filled them.
Joseph sold his land an have the apostles the money.
Acts 5
Ananias and Saphira sold their land and kept a part of the money for themselves an gave the rest the apostles.
Ananias brings the money to Peter and Peter asks why Ananias has lied to the Holy Spirit.
Ananias breates his last breath immediates and is carried away and buried.
Saphira arrives later not knowing what happened to Ananias and she lies to Peter and the Holy Spirit and also dies.
The church is very fearful when they hear of these things.
The church continues to grow under the leadership of Peter.
The people bring the sick to Peter to have his shadow pass over them.
Many of the apostle were imprisoned but an angel of the Lord came and opened the prison and sets them free to continue preaching.
The apostles are questioned again about using Jesus's name.
They respond that they should listen to God, not man.
Gamaliel says leave the apostles alone. If they are from God, then they cannot be stopped.
If they are not, then they will die off.
The apostles are beaten and released. They rejoice over suffering for His name.
Acts 6
Seven are chosen to serve and the word of God spread.
Even priests began to believe.
Stephen, one of those chosen to serve, is accused by many of blasphemy.
