Acts 14
The apostles were preaching at Iconium and the Jews were trying to stop the Gentiles from believing.
The conflict was going to turn violent and so fled.
They preach at Lystra and the people thought their gods had come to earth in human form.
They tried to convince them they were men preaching about a Savior but they would not be heard.
Paul is stoned and dragged and tossed out of the city and is thought to be dead.
The disciples gathered around Paul and he rose up and left.
They returned to the places they preached to to check on them and encourage them.
Acts 15
There is conflict over circumcision.
Now that Gentiles have been accepted by God, should they be circumcised as Moses commanded?
Many at Jerusalem struggle over this issue.
They agree that the Gentiles should not follow the Jewish law but still be cautious, abstaining from blood, sexual immorality, idols, etc.
Paul and Barnabas disagree over taking John Mark with them.
They cannot agree and go separate ways, Paul with Silas, and Barnabas with John Mark.
