Deuteronomy 3-4

Deuteronomy 3
King Og is defeated. 60 cities were taken.
Land east of the Jordan is divided.
Moses is forbidden to enter the land which the Lord promised.
The Lord tells Moses to go up on a mountain to see the land that Joshua will lead the people to.
Moses is told to encourage and strengthen Joshua.

Deuteronomy 4
Moses commands obedience from the people and warns them about idols.
God is a jealous and merciful God.

Deuteronomy 1-2

Deuteronomy 1
Leaders are appointed to make judgements over the people.
Anything too difficult, the Lord will reveal.
The Lord says do not be afraid in any man's presence, because the judgements is God's.
Israel refuses to enter the land which God gave them.
God punishes them so that they will wander the desert and not see that land which He promised.
The Lord says that because of Joshua and Caleb, Israel will still be inheriting Canaan.
The little one will enter the land which God promised.

Deuteronomy 2
The Lord tells the people to travel.
He tells them not to attack Moab.
King Sihon is defeated because he did not allow the passage of the Israelites through his land.

Numbers 35-36

Numbers 35
The Lord tells Moses that the people are to give the Levites 48 cities to live in and common ground.
Six cities of refuge are established so that if you kill a man accidentally you can will not die before you stand before the congregation of judgement.
If you are acquitted of your crime, you have to remain in the city of refuge where you fled until to the death of the High priest, then you may return to the land where you came from.

Numbers 36
The Lord previously said that daughters may claim inheritance if their father has no sons.
The people spoke to Moses about the inheritance changing hands from tribe to tribe.
The Lord said that the daughters must marry within the tribe so that the inheritance is not added to another tribe.

Numbers 33-34

Numbers 33
The route the Israelites travelled from Egypt is reviewed.
The Lord gives instructions on conquering Canaan.
The larger tribe will get the greater inheritance and the smaller will get a less inheritance.

Numbers 34
The boundaries of Canaan are set.
Leaders are appointed for the division of Canaan to the people.

Numbers 31-32

Numbers 31
The Lord tells the Israelites to take vengeance on the Midianites.
12,000 men, 1,000 from each tribe attack the Midianites.
All the kings, men are killed, and women who have known a man are killed.
The other women and children as well as the spoils are brought back to the rest of the people.
The Lord is given a portion and the rest is divided between the people.

Numbers 32
The Lord sats that no one that left Egypt from 20 years and older will see the land that He promised, except Caleb and Joshua.

Numbers 29
Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of the Tabernacles offerings are also established.

Laws for vows are established.

Numbers 26-27

Numbers 26
The Lord tells Moses to take a second census of the people of Israel.

Numbers 27
Inheritance laws are established.
Daughters are now able to receive the inheritance if the father has no sons.
Joshua, son of Nun is chosen as the next leader of Israel.
"Take Joshua the son of Nun with you, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him."

Numbers 23-25

Numbers 23
Balaam makes his first and second prophesies.
Balak wants Balaam to curse people but Balaam actually blesses them because that is what the Lord has told him.

Numbers 24
Balaam makes his third and fourth prophesies.
Balak is very angry that Balaam is not doing what he asked.
Balaam and Balak go their own ways.

Numbers 25
Israel began to commit harlotry with the women of Moab.
The Lord grew angry and tells Moses to hang all the offenders.
24,000 were killed.
The Lord tells Moses to attack the Midianites because they harrassed the Israelites.

Numbers 21-22

Numbers 21
The Israelites defeat the Canaanities at Hormah.
While traveling around Edom, the people complained once again about being in the wilderness.
The Lord sent firey serpents that bite the people.
The people asked Moses to pray to God from them.
The Lord heard them and told Moses to make a bronze serpent on a pole and anyone who looks at it that has been bitten shall live.
The Israelites keep moving.
Sihon king of the Amorites is defeated because he would not grant them passage through his land.
King Og is also defeated by the Israelites.

Numbers 22
Balak send for Balaam to curse some people.
Balaam says he can only do what the Lord tells him, no more, no less.
The  Lord tells Balaam not to go with Balak, but he does.
On his way, Balaam's donkey see an Angel of the Lord and turns to the side.
This happens three time and Balaam hits his donkey.
The Lord gives the donkey a voice and Balaam eyes are opened and see the Angel of the Lord.
Balaam says he will turn back but the Angel tells him to go but only to speak the words of the Angel of the Lord.
Balaam tells Balak he can only do or say what the Lord tells him.

Numbers 18-20

Numbers 18
Certain offerings like the heave offering are for the priests to eat in a most holy place by the males of those who are clean.
"I am your portion and inheritance..."
The Lord gives the Levites the tithes of the children of Israel as an inheritance for the work they do in the tabernacle.
If the children of Israel come near the tent, they will die.
From what the Levites get from the people, one tenth of it goes to the Lord as a heave offering.

Numbers 19
Laws of purification are established.

Numbers 20
Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh.
The people complain about not having water.
The Lord tells Moses to speak to the rock and water will come forth.
Moses hits the rock twice with his staff and water comes out.
Since Moses disobeyed the Lord and hit the rock instead of speaking to it, the people are not going into the land that the Lord promised.
Moses requestes to pass through the land of Edom.
Edom refuses them passage.
Moses rebelled with the water so Aaron must die.
The people mourned Aaron's death for 30 days.

Numbers 16-17

Numbers 16
Korah, Dathan, and Abiram gather against Moses and Aaron.
The Lord opened the earth and swollowed all three, their families, and their tents.
The people complain to Moses that the Lord is killing His own people.
The Lord sent a plague and Moses and Aaron interceded.
14,700 died from the plague.

Number 17
Twelve rods are made and twelve leaders' names are engraved and placed in the Tabernacle.
One day is to be waited and which ever rod buds, that is who the Lord chooses as leader.
The next day it is shown that Aaron's rod budded.

Numbers 14-15

Numbers 14
The Israelites refuse to enter Canaan.
They even go as far as saying they wish they were back in Egypt! They are trippin'.
The people say that Moses and Aaron should be stoned!
Moses once intercedes for the children of Israel.
The Lord tells Moses that no one except Caleb and Joshua will enter the land He promised them.
They will all die in the wilderness. They are to wander the wilderness for 40 years.
The men who spied and gave a bad report about the land died by the plague.
The people responded by trying to go into the mountains and fight.
They do not succeed because the Lord was not with them.

Numbers 15
Laws are given for grain and drink offerings.
Laws about unintentional sin and presumptuous sin are given.
If you violate the Sabbath by working you are stoned to death.

Numbers 11-13

Numbers 11
The children of Israel complain about how they only have manna.
The Lord tells Moses to gather 70 elders to help the people.
God said he will take the same spirit that Moses has and put it on the 70 elders.
God sends many quail to eat.

Numbers 12
Aaron and Miriam speak ill of Moses becasue he married an Ethipian woman.
They also ask why God only speaks to Moses and not them.
The Lord calls all three to the tabernacle.
The Lord tells them to not speak against Moses, His prophet.
The Lord was angry towards Miriam and Aaron.
The Lord caused Miriam to have leprosy.
Miriam must leave the camp for seven days; then she may return.

Numbers 13
The Lord tells Moses to sends spies to the land of Canaan.
The spies go throughout the land spying.
They bring back fruit of the land.
Caleb said that they should go at once and take land.
The others gave a bad report saying that there were too many people and strong cities to be able to takeover.

Numbers 8-10

Numbers 8
Aaron arranges the lamps as the Lord spoke to Moses.
The Levites are to be cleansed.
Water is sprinkled on them, their bodies are shaved and their clothes are washed.
The Levites are to brought before the Lord like a wave offering.
The Levites are separated from the children of Israel because they are the Lord's.
Levites work from 25 years of age until 50. No more.
They may still minister to their brethren, but they shall do no work.

Numbers 9
The second Passover is observed.
If you are unclean you may participate in the Passover as well as those traveling.
The pillar of cloud and fire by night will guide the children of Israel.
When the cloud or fire goes up it is time to travel.

Numbers 10
Two silver trumpets are made.
They are to be used to call the leaders or congregation together or to sound the advance in a time of war.
The children of Israel pack up and leave Mt. Sinai for the Wilderness of Paran.

Numbers 7

Numbers 7
The leaders of the tribes of Israel come and give offerings after Moses anointed and consecrated the Tabernacle.
Carts and oxen were brought and given to the Levites.
Gershon received two carts and four oxen.
Merari received four carts and eight oxen.
Kohath received nothing because they were to carry the holy things on their shoulders.
Nahshon of Judah gave his offering first.
Then Nethanel of Issachar, Eliab of Zebulun, Elizur of Reuben, Shelumiel of Simeon, Eliasaph of Gad, Elishama of Ephriam, Gamaliel of Manasseh, Abidan of Benjamin, Ahiezer of Dan, Pagiel of Asher, and Ahira of Naphtali.

Numbers 5-6

Numbers 5
Unclean persons are to go outside of the camp.
When a sin is commited, restitution must be made.
If no family is able to claim the restitution, the priest gets it.
If a woman is unfaithful to her husband or the husband gets jealous, they may go before the priest to determine the truth.
The woman is drink water with dirt from the tabernacle floor.
If her thigh rots or her belly swells then she is cursed and she has been unfaithful.
If nothing happens, then she has been faithful and can have children.

Numbers 6
The Law of the Nazirite. I am not quite understanding this part.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace."
This is how the priests are to bless the children of Israel.

Numbers 3-4

Numbers 3
Aaron has four sons. The Lord killed the two oldest because they offered profane fire to the Lord.
The Levites are to serve Aaron and his sons in their priestly duties in the Tabernacle.
All the first borns, man or beast, are the Lord's.
The Levites are to be counted numbering every male from a month old and above.
The Levites were numbered at 22,000.
The Lord declares the Levites His instead of taking the firstborns of every tribe.

Numbers 4
The duties of the sons of Kohath are to cover the holy things.
The duties of the sons of Gershon are to carry the curtains, the screen door, and hangings of the court.
The duties of the sons of Merari are to carry the boards, bars, pillars and sockets.
Those of the Levites from 30 to 50 years old were 8,580.

Numbers 1-2

Numbers 1
The Lord tells Moses to take a census of the people of Israel.
Men are appointed as heads of the tribes.
Those who were counted were twenty years old and above, able to go to war.
Reuben had 46,500.
Simeon had 59,300.
Gad had 45,650.
Judah had 74,600.
Issachar had 54,400.
Zebulun had 57,400.
Joseph had 40,500.
Manasseh had 32,200.
Benjamin had 35,400.
Dan had 62,700.
Asher 41,500.
Naphtali had 53,400.
All those who were numbered 603,550.
The Lord told Moses the Levites were not to be counted.
The Levites are appointed over the Tabernacle of Testimony.
The Levites are to live around the Tabernacle.

Numbers 2
There are places where each tribe is to camp.
The east side consisted of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.
The south side consisted of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad.
The west side consisted of Joseph, Manasseh, and Benjamin.
The north side consisted of Dan, Asher, and Naphtali.
The Levites were not counted as the Lord commanded and are in the middle of the camp.

Leviticus 26-27

Leviticus 26
The Lord tell the Israelites not to make idols and to keep His Sabbaths.
The Lord says if you follow Him, He will bless you.
If you do not follow Him, there are ramifications.

Leviticus 27
Laws about redeeming property and people.
27:34 "These are the commandments which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai."

Leviticus 24-25

Leviticus 24
Aaron is in charge of keeping the lamps lit.
Twelve cakes with frankincense on them are to be made every Sabbath from the children of Israel as the everlasting covenant.
An Israelite woman's son blasphemed the name of the Lord and was put to death.
All who do this will be put to death.
If you kill, you will be put to death.
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.

Leviticus 25
The people of Israel are to plant and harvest for six years.
The seventh year is a sabbath of rest for the land.
The fruit that is grown on its own is to be used for food only.
The Year of Jubilee.
The Lord will bless the sixth year with enough for the next three years.
Land is not to be sold permanently for it is the Lord's.
Land may be redeemed as well as slaves up to a certain time or at any time depending on the situation.
If a friend is poor, lend him money or food.
Do not interest of the poor you lend to or make profit off of sold food.
Slave law is discussed.

Leviticus 22-23

Leviticus 22
The Lord speaks to Moses about the priests keeping clean and holy.
No outsider may take of the holy offering and you must be clean to eat it.
Offerings must be without blemish or defect for it to be acceptable to the Lord.

Leviticus 23
The Sabbath is holy and no work is to be performed.
The Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Weeks, Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of the Tabernacles are to be performed at their appropriate times.

Leviticus 19
"You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy."
Honor your father and mother, keep the Sabbaths. do not turn to idols, and many other moral laws are set.

Leviticus 20
Penalties for breaking laws are set.

Leviticus 21
Priests are to remain holy and clean in order to serve in the Tabernacle.

Leviticus 16-18

Leviticus 16
The Day of Atonement. Atonement for the sins of the children of Israel once a year.

Leviticus 17
Blood is not to be eaten.
If a bird or animal is killed, the blood it to spilled out and covered with dust.
Whoever eats the blood will be cut off from his people.

Leviticus 18
The Lord speaks to Moses about sexual morality.

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron about a male and female being unclean and how to be cleansed.

Leviticus 11-13

Leviticus 11
Laws about eating animals are set.
DO NOT EAT CAMELS.
Unclean animals are discussed.
We must be holy because the Lord is holy.

Leviticus 12
Rituals for women after childbirth.
If a male is born, the woman is unclean for 7 days.
On the 8th day, the boy is circumcised and the woman is to purify herself for 33 days.
If a female is born, the woman is unclean for two weeks and must purify herself for 66 days.
When purification is complete, a burnt and sin offering must be brought to the tabernacle for the priest to make atonement for her.

Leviticus 13
Laws about leprosy identification, cleansing, and isolation are established.
Leprous garments are either cleansed or burned determined by the priest.

Aaron and his sons are consecrated for seven days with Moses doing serving Aaron.

Leviticus 9
Aaron and his sons give offerings to the Lord on behalf of the people of Israel.

Leviticus 10
Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron offered profane fire to the Lord and fire devoured them and they died.
Priestly conduct is established.

Regulations for trespass offerings are set.

Moses tells the people of the laws of burnt, grain, and sin offering.

Leviticus 7
The laws of trespass and peace offerings are told.
Fat and blood are not to be eaten otherwise they will be cut off from their people.
Aaron and his sons are to receive portions of particular offerings.
