Jeremiah 38-41

Jeremiah 38
Jeremiah is put in a dungeon.
Ebed-Melech speaks to the king saying Jeremiah will die where he is.
The king lets him take Jeremiah out of the dungeon into the court of the prison.
Zedekiah asks Jeremiah what the Lord has to say and promises he will not kill Jeremiah for what he says.
Jeremiah says to surrender to the the king of the Babylon’s princes and there live and homes will be spared.

Jeremiah 39
Jerusalem fall.
Many are taken captive to Babylon, while some remain behind.
Jeremiah is set free.

Jeremiah 40
Jeremiah is released and he goes with Gedaliah, the governor of the remaining people in Judah.

Jeremiah 41
Ishmael kills Gedaliah, the governor.
