Isaiah 36-41

Isaiah 36
Sennacharib boasts against the Lord.

Isaiah 37
King Hezekiah is enraged when he hears what Sennacharib says.
Isaiah assures Hezekiah of deliverance by the Lord.
Sennacharib threatens Hezekiah and he prays to the Lord from deliverance.
The Lord speaks through Isaiah about Sennacharib and his future.
The Lord gives him a sign of when he will be no more.
An angel of the Lord killed 185,000 Assyrians.
Sennacharib fled and was killed by his sons.

Isaiah 38
Isaiah tells Hezekiah he will die soon.
Hezekiah prays to the Lord for more life.
The Lord speaks to Isaiah saying he will extend Hezekiah’s life by 15 years.

Isaiah 39
Hezekiah welcomes the Babylonians to his kingdom.
Isaiah warns that that was a mistake and tells that soon his kingdom will be taken away.

Isaiah 40
“The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
God conforts His people.

Isaiah 41
God assures Israel that He is and will help them.
Idols are futile and for fools.
